King William County, Virginia – October 21, 2024 – According to 12 On Your Side news, the Virginia State Police (VSP) have identified a Virginia man who died in a chain-reaction crash earlier this week.
Troopers responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Rt. 30 involving six vehicles, including a 2023 International tractor-trailer driven by Brian Winston Carroll, 35, of Ruther Glen, Virginia.
“Carroll was traveling westbound on King William Road, two miles west of the Richmond Tappahannock Highway, when his truck crossed the center line and collided with another 2020 International tractor-trailer. This initial impact triggered a chain reaction crash involving four additional vehicles,” Virginia State Police said.
VSP says Carroll died at the scene.
Three other drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Another driver was airlifted to the hospital for further evaluation.
The investigation into this crash continues.
